Top-of-Mind Tuesday with SVP Courtney Myers

by Ellen Mallernee Barnes in News, Top-of-Mind Tuesdday

This week, Courtney Myers, a 21-year veteran of Red Havas and a senior vice president in our Pittsburgh office, told us what she’s been up to lately.

What I’m cooking…  I love to cook. Right now I’m experimenting with tagine dishes from North Africa. This week I’m making this quinoa tabbouleh salad—full of fresh herbs, it is great for the start of spring.

What I’m watching on TV… I never miss an episode of “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.” I love his satirical look at current events and how the show explores under-reported topics at length. The combination of investigative journalism and sharp wit is entertaining and informative.

What I’m doing on the weekend (most weekends)… My husband and I own a church—well, a building that used to be a church. In 2016 we purchased a former Slovakian Catholic church—St. Michael Church. Part office space, part event space, it’s been a labor of love to reinvent, reclaim and redesign a place that had been neglected for over seven years. Wherever we can, we have recycled and integrated all of the amazing materials left behind into our renovations, including beautiful white marble from removed side altars and oak from abandoned kneelers. The former sanctuary space is perfect for live music and events. We’ve hosted events for local nonprofits like 412 Food Rescue and community groups like the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh. And some Havas PR happy hours as well.
